SYSTEM

Our facilities are located on a 10 acre site in downtown dyersburg. The office facilities, dispatching, engineering, and SCADA system are located in East Court Street level of the building. The warehouse, crew quarters, garage, PCB storage and the parking garage for our fleet are located on the Cedar Street level.

We have ten distribution substations connected to our looped 69kv transmission system. The 69kv transmission system is served by three TVA delivery points of which any two can serve all of DES's load well into the future. These ten substations serve our 12,500 customers through a network of over 395 miles of distribution lines.

We use our Automated Mapping and Facilities Management (AM\FM) system daily to prepare work orders and plan future system upgrades. We use a computer controlled Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to monitor all critical components of the System. The SCADA is connected electronically to a computer system called First Alert which broadcast any abnormal condition over the radio system to alpha\numeric pagers. This allows all key personnel to monitor the critical components in all substations remotely.
